Kareena Kapoor Khan undeniably stands as one of Bollywood's foremost luminaries. Over her extensive and distinguished career, she has graced several critically acclaimed films. After a significant span of time, she is now poised to embark on her digital debut with 'Jaane Jaan'. This cinematic venture is helmed by the accomplished director Sujoy Ghosh, and features Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat in pivotal roles. In an exclusive conversation with Pinkvilla, Kareena Kapoor candidly shared her thoughts on stepping into the realm of streaming and her inaugural OTT project, 'Jaane Jaan'.

During her conversation with Pinkvilla, Kareena explained why she chose "Jaane Jaan" as her inaugural OTT project. She expressed her admiration for Sujoy Ghosh and her longstanding desire to collaborate with him, stating, "Undoubtedly, he played a pivotal role in my decision to take on this film because I've always aspired to work with Sujoy." Additionally, Kareena disclosed, "Beyond that, personally, when I'm immersed in a streaming experience, I find myself drawn to crime and thriller genres. I consume a substantial amount of that content; it simply captivates you. So, I always believed that if I were to embark on my OTT journey, it should involve a thriller of some kind." The actress affirmed that the script for "Jaane Jaan" was "flawless," and everything fell seamlessly into place after the cast was finalized.

During the same interview, the actress from Jab We Met was questioned about whether she had been offered other genres prior to Jaan Jaan. She revealed that indeed, there were alternative genres presented to her, but she ultimately chose Sujoy Ghosh's film because she found "a certain moody quality in the script" that offered a distinctive challenge at this juncture in her career. She expressed that everything else she was offered seemed "conventional" and "mainstream."

Directed and written by Sujoy Ghosh, Jaane Jaan features Kareena Kapoor, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Vijay Varma in pivotal roles. The film is produced by Jay Shewakramani, Akshai Puri, Hyunwoo Thomas Kim, Shobha Kapoor, and Ekta Kapoor. This movie is an official adaptation of Keigo Higashino's 2005 Japanese novel, The Devotion of Suspect X. Jaane Jaan is scheduled for release on September 21st.
