"According to costar Bridget Moynahan, she's the unexpected addition to the family dinner."

Although Jenny McCarthy isn't physically present for the Blue Bloods Sunday dinners, she remains an integral part of the Reagan family tradition.

During a sneak peek from an upcoming episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, Blue Bloods co-stars Donnie Wahlberg and Bridget Moynahan dish about their unseen dinner companion, who happens to be Wahlberg's spouse. "She's like that extra family member at dinner," Moynahan reveals to host Drew Barrymore. "Her presence is felt through the phone; in between takes, it's all, 'Hi, honey,' 'Hi, honey,' and we're all like, 'Jenny!' So, she's always with us."

In 2014, Wahlberg tied the knot with McCarthy. Since 2010, he's been captivating audiences on Blue Bloods as Detective Danny Reagan, the son of Commissioner Frank Reagan played by Tom Selleck.

McCarthy isn't just present for the Blue Bloods dinner scenes. Wahlberg shares a heartwarming detail about how they maintain closeness despite their separate filming schedules in different cities. "Now we have the luxury of sleeping together even when we're apart," he explains. "So, whoever drifts off first just gives the other a call. We spend the entire night together even when we're physically apart."

Wahlberg emphasizes that this arrangement stems from their desire to be together rather than any insecurity or necessity. "It's not about insecurity or dependency; we genuinely enjoy it," he points out. Barrymore chimes in, acknowledging Wahlberg's role in changing her perspective on the positive aspects of technology during one of her early shows.

"It's just like, why not?" Wahlberg concludes. "We'll miss each other anyway, so why start the day longing for each other, thinking, 'Oh God, I missed you, I woke up at 3 in the morning.' I always tell her, 'If you find yourself awake at 3 in the morning, unable to sleep, just give me a nudge through the phone, and I'll wake up to be with you.'"

The 14th and last season of Blue Bloods is currently on air, set to conclude this autumn. Catch Wahlberg, Moynahan, and Barrymore in the clip above.
