Prepare for a Weekend Deluge: Twin Cities Braces for Waves of Rain and Storms

MINNEAPOLIS - Prepare for a refreshing dose of April showers as the Twin Cities brace for a welcomed change in weather. With Friday's forecasted high reaching 55 degrees, the day promises a mix of precipitation and gusty winds, reaching up to 40 mph.

The morning will witness the arrival of the first storm system, accompanied by showers, setting a brisk tone for the day. By afternoon, a brief respite from the rain will allow for a temporary break before precipitation resumes just in time for the evening commute.

While Friday evening may see some thunder and potentially strong storms across southern Minnesota, the likelihood of severe weather remains higher in Iowa and areas further south.

As Saturday dawns, most of the rain will have shifted northward from the metro area, leaving behind dry conditions for Minnesotans to enjoy. By the afternoon, expect to see glimpses of sunshine amidst west-by-southwest winds, elevating temperatures to the pleasant mid-60s range. It's shaping up to be a weekend worth savoring in Minneapolis!

Expect the arrival of the second storm system early Sunday morning, ushering in a deluge of rain and gusty winds that persist until Monday morning.

This dynamic duo of weather systems promises a welcome 1 to 2 inches of nourishing rain. Fortunately, the likelihood of severe weather is minimal, with the most intense storms projected to steer clear to the south.

Expect Temperatures to Hover in the 50s from Sunday to Monday, Gradually Climbing to Near 70 by Midweek.

The upcoming week appears to bring more unpredictable weather patterns, introducing increased rain probabilities on Tuesday and Thursday, albeit offering a short respite on Wednesday.
