The star of "One Day at a Time" recently wrapped up a multi-city tour promoting her latest cookbook, "Indulge."

Valerie Bertinelli is putting her phone on "do not disturb" mode.

Following a triumphant multi-stop book tour to promote her latest cookbook, "Indulge," earlier this month, the former "One Day at a Time" star revealed via an Instagram post on Friday her intention to step back from social media due to feeling mentally and emotionally drained.

"The past six weeks or so have been quite overwhelming," Bertinelli expressed. "Although I deeply appreciate all the support for my book and the wonderful people I've encountered, as someone who typically leans toward introversion, I find myself craving a much-needed break for my mental well-being."

The ex-Food Network personality admitted she didn’t feel obligated to make a formal exit from the internet. However, she opted to share a public announcement because she understands some of her followers might fret if she goes silent for too long. She reassured them, saying, “But I’m alright. Truly.”

Moreover, Bertinelli emphasized the importance of taking breaks from social media for mental well-being, expressing gratitude for her ability to recognize when she needs to step back due to feeling overwhelmed or emotionally drained.

In her closing remarks, she urged everyone to "take care of yourselves" while she's away, with the assurance, "I'll return sooner than you think."

Bertinelli launched her book tour at the Long Island LitFest on April 2, and for the following six weeks, she hosted 13 signing events spanning eight states nationwide.

In an Instagram post from April, she took a moment to appreciate the "kindness" displayed by her fans during discussions at her Indulge book signings. She expressed gratitude, saying, "I wanted to extend a heartfelt thank-you for your support and the wonderful responses to my life updates."
