Kate Middleton is subtly sending a message to Meghan Markle through her recent wardrobe choices, sparking speculation about her evolving style inspirations. Despite their past grievances, the Princess of Wales appears to be taking cues from her estranged sister-in-law, Meghan Markle.

As Kate eases back into royal duties following her successful cancer treatment, her wardrobe reflects a strategic message. Fashion has often been a tool for the royal to communicate her personal journey, and this time is no different.

A fashion designer highlighted a key moment in Kate’s post-recovery video, released in early September. This video is being linked to Meghan Markle’s Colombia tour with Prince Harry in August. During her trip, Meghan wore a navy Veronica Beard top and trousers, a look mirrored by Kate just three weeks later when she donned a midi dress for a health-related announcement.

"Her recent fashion experiments, like the bohemian midi dress by Veronica Beard and the striking purple Safiyaa dress she showcased at the Wimbledon Men's Final, reflect her evolving sense of style," noted fashion designer Peter Martinez in a GB News interview.

"Kate’s fashion choices are more than just clothes; they are a reflection of her role as a royal and her personal journey. As she continues to heal and balance her public responsibilities, we can expect her style to evolve in inspiring ways," Martinez added.

Fashion has historically been a point of tension between the royal wives. In his memoir Spare, Prince Harry mentioned an early misunderstanding between Kate and Meghan. According to Harry, Kate mistakenly believed Meghan sought her fashion contacts, leading to friction between the two.

“Meghan acknowledged the tension and suggested it might trace back to their early days in the family—a misunderstanding that almost went unnoticed,” Harry wrote. “Kate thought Meghan wanted her fashion contacts, but Meghan had her own. Did they get off on the wrong foot?"

It remains unclear whether Kate will continue drawing inspiration from designers favored by Meghan. Interestingly, Sarah Burton, who designed Kate’s iconic Alexander McQueen wedding dress, has recently left the British label to join Givenchy, a brand closely associated with Meghan.

A fashion expert suggested that Kate’s loyalty to Sarah Burton may influence her to embrace Givenchy more in the upcoming season, continuing her support for the designer.
