A twin-seat Indian Air Force (IAF) Jaguar fighter jet crashed near Jamnagar, Gujarat, during a routine training mission. While one pilot safely ejected, the other remains missing, prompting an extensive search and rescue operation.

According to Superintendent of Police Premsukh Delu, the aircraft caught fire after impact, and police and firefighters swiftly reached the site to begin search efforts.

Videos from Suvarda village, located 12km from Jamnagar, depict a burning field with the cockpit and tail section of the aircraft ablaze.

IAF Jaguar: A Vital Fighter Jet

The IAF Jaguar is a twin-engine fighter bomber, available in single and twin-seat variants, and has been a key asset in the Indian Air Force since its induction in the late 1970s. The aircraft has undergone numerous upgrades to maintain operational efficiency.

Recent Jaguar Crashes Raise Concerns

This is not the first such incident involving the IAF Jaguar. On March 7, another Jaguar aircraft crashed in Ambala due to a technical malfunction. The pilot managed to steer the jet away from residential areas before ejecting safely.

The Indian Air Force is now investigating the cause of the latest Jaguar crash while search teams work tirelessly to locate the missing pilot.
