Reba premiered more than two decades ago, showcasing McEntire as a middle-aged Texan mother navigating the challenges of her divorce, her husband's betrayal, and her daughter's teenage pregnancy. The series aired for six seasons on the WB (with the sixth season on the then-new network The CW) before concluding in February 2007.

The show, which featured a popular theme song written and performed by McEntire, continues to thrive in syndication, with its most recent broadcast on the Hallmark Channel.

In the years following the conclusion of Reba, McEntire has remained active in the entertainment industry. She starred in the short-lived sitcom Malibu Country, portraying a wife and mother wronged by her country music star husband. More recently, she took on the role of mermaid Trish in Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar and had recurring appearances as hairstylist June Ballard on Young Sheldon. McEntire also joined the cast of Big Sky in its third season as ranch owner Sunny Barnes. Her involvement as a coach on The Voice began in season 24, and she is set to reprise her role in the upcoming season.
