The actress from "Poor Things" mentioned that she's almost impossible to offend.

Emma Stone isn't one to shrug off awards season jokes lightly.

In March, Stone's irritation was palpable as Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel remarked, "Those were all the parts of Poor Things that we’re allowed to show on TV," during the film's Best Picture nominee montage.

Stone refutes any suggestion of taking offense at the remark, especially online rumors insinuating she mouthed the word "prick" in reaction. "Was I bothered?" she countered when questioned by The Hollywood Reporter. "Absolutely not! I didn't label him as such. What exactly did I say? I certainly didn't refer to him in that manner. I harbored no ill feelings towards him whatsoever. I might need to fact-check that. I’m pretty much impervious to offense."

During the Oscars night, footage captured Stone sharing a comment with her husband, Dave McCary, right after Kimmel's joke. However, her exact words remained unclear. Stone didn't elaborate on her remarks when speaking with THR in the footage.

Even if Stone did indeed mouth the word "prick," a claim she denies, the intention behind it remained uncertain. At the Golden Globes in January, she sarcastically remarked, "What an a--hole," in response to her friend Taylor Swift's enthusiastic cheers for her win. Stone later expressed regret for the joke, stating, "I definitely won’t make a joke like that again," to Variety, emphasizing how headlines had distorted its context. Reflecting on her actions, Stone admitted, "What a dope," while pointing at herself.

Regarding the Oscars, Stone had the final say when she clinched her second Academy Award for Best Actress for her role as Bella Baxter in Poor Things. In the movie, she depicts a young woman who experiences rejuvenation and embarks on a voyage of self-discovery. Along the way, she confronts predatory individuals, revels in the pleasures of literature, and explores the nuances of love.

Entertainment Weekly raved about Stone's performance in "Poor Things," describing it as undoubtedly the highlight of her career. They highlighted how her wide-eyed portrayal perfectly captured Bella's sense of wonder towards the world.
