Jeff Bridges discusses his digital recreation in Tron: Legacy on the Happy Sad Confused podcast.

Jeff Bridges opened up about his digitally recreated appearance in the 2010 film Tron: Legacy. During a recent episode of Josh Horowitz's Happy Sad Confused podcast, he candidly stated, “I wasn’t particularly fond of that recreation of myself,” reflecting on the groundbreaking de-aging technology employed in Joseph Kosinski's sequel.

With humor, Bridges remarked, “I thought I looked more like Bill Maher than myself.” The iconic actor also reminisced about the innovative techniques used to bring the film's neon digital universe to life.

“It was filmed in 70mm black-and-white, hand-tinted by a team in Korea, I believe,” he recalled. “We had black duvetyne, and the set featured white adhesive tape. Everyone was encouraged to wear colorful clothing because our suits were all black. After a long day in that black-and-white setting, you’d step outside, and — boom! — color would just flood in.”

Bridges is set to reprise his role as video game creator Kevin Flynn in Tron: Ares, which stars Jared Leto and is scheduled for release on October 10, 2025, where he will make a cameo appearance.
