Jaden Smith, son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, recently reflected on his unique behavior, revealing it was never an act. At 26, the rapper and actor has chosen to fully embrace his eccentricity after spending years attempting to blend in with societal norms.
On October 19, Jaden shared a revealing post on X (formerly Twitter), addressing his once controversial and "weird" actions. "All the weird stuff you’ve seen me do was me thinking I was completely normal," he confessed. Jaden now says he acts "weird on purpose" as he's learned to be comfortable in his own skin.
The 'Karate Kid' star admitted, "I’ve been trying to fit in this whole time, and it’s not exactly going to plan." His candid post came shortly after an interview with Complex, titled "I Interviewed Jaden Smith and It Was Somehow Even Weirder Than Expected." In the interview, Jaden discussed his self-proclaimed weirdness, saying it stemmed from a desire to appear "normal" while growing up.
Reflecting on his journey, Jaden shared, “It was important to me for people to think I was normal, but I wasn't showing my true self.” He also expressed frustration with the societal pressure to conform, particularly in art and creativity. Now, Jaden proudly embraces his individuality, noting, "I actively try to be myself.”
