Selena Gomez discusses her career and mental health journey in a candid interview.

Selena Gomez is sharing a rare glimpse into her life as she discusses her journey of ‘moving on’ in her career.

The 32-year-old multi-talented artist, who gained fame from her role in the iconic 2000s sitcom Wizards of Waverly Place, opened up about her soaring career.

Expressing her passion for projects that inspire her rather than conforming to fan expectations, the star of Emilia Perez told Best magazine, "At this point, I just want to engage in things that I love. It’s taken time to reach this place, and it’s been a struggle for some to accept that I have moved on, but I am genuinely happy. I’ve learned so much and I’m thrilled for what lies ahead."

The singer of "Lose You To Love Me" did not shy away from discussing her difficult years following her bipolar disorder diagnosis in 2018.

Gomez, who recently launched the Rare Impact Fund aimed at supporting mental health initiatives, opened up about her challenges in the latter part of the interview.

She added, "I truly do. I won’t sugarcoat it; it took me a long time to arrive at this point, and there are still days when I wake up and don’t feel my best.

“But this is all part of cultivating a healthy relationship with your mental health and recognizing when you might need to talk or seek help, which is something we all need at times!"

On the professional front, the former Disney star last appeared in Netflix’s French musical comedy film Emilia Perez.
