Stephen Curry Makes NBA History: Hits 4,000th Career 3-Pointer in Warriors' Win Over Kings
Golden State's Star Breaks Another Record as Warriors Extend Winning Streak
Curry, who turns 37 tomorrow, drained his record-setting 3-pointer from the right wing off a pass from Moses Moody with 8:19 left in the third quarter. Fans erupted in celebration, and the arena played a special video tribute featuring former Warrior Andris Biedrins, who assisted on Curry’s first-ever 3-pointer in 2009.
Warriors Continue Their Hot Streak
The Warriors (13-2 in their last 15 games) dominated from start to finish. Curry played a supporting role with 11 points, as eight Warriors scored in double figures.
Draymond Green led the way with a season-high 23 points, including four 3-pointers.
Jonathan Kuminga returned from a 31-game absence to contribute 18 points in just 20 minutes.
Moses Moody (17 points, 6 assists), Buddy Hield (16 points), Gary Payton II (11 points), and Gui Santos (10 points) all made key contributions.
Kings' Struggles Continue
Sacramento, playing without Domantas Sabonis (hamstring injury) for the sixth straight game, lost its third in a row and fourth in five outings.
DeMar DeRozan led the Kings with 23 points and seven assists.
Keon Ellis (18 points), Zach LaVine (14 points), Jake LaRavia (13 points), and Trey Lyles (11 points) rounded out the scoring.
Curry Reflects on His Historic Achievement
“It’s crazy to think back to my first 3-pointer and now hitting 4,000,” said Curry, reminiscing on his journey. “The energy in the arena was incredible.”
Curry has transformed the game of basketball, redefining long-range shooting. Kings coach Doug Christie marveled at the feat, saying, “What Steph has done is simply unbelievable. His impact on the game is massive.”
Warriors Stay Hot From Deep
Golden State torched the Kings, shooting 57.7% from the field and 56.4% from beyond the arc (22-for-39). They built an early 30-18 lead in the first quarter and never trailed. The Kings made a push in the second, cutting the deficit to 67-63, but Curry’s milestone triple helped the Warriors regain control.
What’s Next?
Coach Steve Kerr joked about how to celebrate Curry’s latest milestone: “What do you get for the guy who has everything? Maybe I’ll give him a day off.”
With James Harden (3,127) and Damian Lillard (2,794) trailing far behind, Curry’s 3-point record could stand for decades—unless he decides to push for 8,000, as Kerr playfully suggested.
