       Legendary actor Manoj Kumar, known as Bharat Kumar, passes away at 87

Veteran Bollywood actor Manoj Kumar, popularly known as 'Bharat Kumar', passed away at the age of 87 after a prolonged battle with liver failure and heart-related complications. The sad news has left the entire Indian film industry in deep mourning.

Kumar took his last breath at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, where he was admitted following cardiac issues. Later reports confirmed that liver failure played a major role in his demise.

Renowned as one of India’s most iconic patriotic heroes, Manoj Kumar rose to fame through his unforgettable roles in evergreen films like Shaheed (1965), Upkar (1967), and Purab Aur Paschim (1970). These classics etched him into the hearts of millions and earned him the prestigious moniker, "Bharat Kumar."

Throughout his illustrious career, he was celebrated for his patriotic themes, strong moral messaging, and intense screen presence. Manoj Kumar was conferred with the Padma Shri in 1992 and honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2015 – India’s highest award in cinema – for his immense contribution to Hindi cinema.

Apart from his iconic patriotic films, Kumar also delivered stellar performances in timeless hits like Hariyali Aur Raasta, Woh Kaun Thi, Himalaya Ki God Mein, Do Badan, Patthar Ke Sanam, Neel Kamal, and the grand historical drama Kranti.

His passing marks the end of a golden era in Indian cinema, where films not only entertained but awakened national pride.
